As a basic printer, the Samsung ProXpress SL-M4530NX is a good choice for both home and office use. With a high print resolution of up to 1200 dpi, the user can be sure of professional quality printing.

With a wide range of print features, including Eco Print and Direct Print from USB, this is a compact and versatile printer that is easy to use.

Design

The Samsung SL-M4530NX is the latest addition to the ProXpress range of Laser printers and features a full-colour 4.3in operational panel, 1GB of memory that can be expanded to 2GB and a 320GB hard disk drive. There are also two USB ports on the unit. Its dimensions are 43.3cm x 45.9cm x 40.8cm, so it fits neatly onto a desk.

Advantages

The print speed of the Samsung M4530NX is 45 pages per minute at A4, although slightly more can be produced in letter format. The first-time print clocks in at 6.5 seconds. Duplex printing can help save both money and paper. Almost all versions of Windows are supported by this printer, as well as versions of Linux and Mac OS, among others.

Disadvantages

As a basic machine, this unit is quite heavy at 22kg, so it would be difficult for one person to lift. The recommended monthly print volume is anything between 3,000 and 15,000 pages, which could be an issue for a very busy office, but fine for most small businesses. Lack of colour printing could be a problem for some companies, as could the lack of copy, fax or scan facilities, relegating the M4530NX to a secondary machine.
