The Xerox WorkCentre 6605DN is best known for delivering superior graphics and offering MFP functions, plus auto-duplexer capabilities via a reversing ADF (50 sheets). Some users complain that it slows down when in the default PostScript driver mode, though.

Design

Measuring 20 inches high, 16.9 inches wide, and 20.8 deep, the 71-pound Xerox WorkCentre 6605DN is a seriously large machine that is perfect for small but busy workgroups. It can print up to A4 size and boasts a 700-sheet paper capacity, with a main tray that handles 550 sheets and a multipurpose tray handling 150 sheets. Users with more demanding printing needs can upgrade the Xerox WorkCentre 6605DN with an optional 550 sheet second tray to increase its maximum paper capacity to a whopping 1,250 sheets. The Xerox WorkCentre 6605DN is a colour multifunction laser printer that is identical to the 6605N, except that is has the added benefit of an auto-duplexer.

Advantages

Perhaps the main selling point of the WorkCentre 6605DN (and what separates it from previous models in this line of Xerox printers) is its ability to print on both sides. This workhorse can print, scan, copy, and fax. The front-facing USB port allows users to scan to or print from a USB thumb drive. The LAN faxing function of the WorkCentre 6605DN allows users to scan to a network folder or email. Walkup or PC faxing is possible via the printer's built-in control panel.

Disadvantages

The Xerox WorkCentre 6605DN offers good quality output but is quite slow when the default PostScript driver is used. The PCL driver is faster, though it diminishes output quality and needs to be installed separately.
