A single-function laser printer that offers high-resolution colour printing, the Ricoh Aficio SPC221N allows network configuration, making it an ideal addition to a workgroup set-up. It is a reliable machine that can print at an average speed of 21 ppm. The Ricoh Aficio SP C221N is Mac and Windows compatible, with an accompanying software that lets users monitor and manage supply levels and other printer settings online. The unit is not as compact measuring approximately 16x18x13 inches, the same dimensions as many multifunction devices.

Design

A simple box printer, the Ricoh Aficio SPC221N colour laser does away with fancy features, keeping its focus on producing high quality prints. The SPC221N features a status display and an easy to use and read control panel, beside which are LED indicators that warn users about errors and supply status. The Ricoh Aficio SP-C221N multifunction printer connects via USB and Ethernet interface, which allow users to choose between a networked and personal setting.

Advantages

Users find the Ricoh Aficio SPC221N laser printer very appealing because of its fast print speeds, which average 21 ppm for both colour and black and white outputs. Maximum print resolutions also reach 2400x600 dpi, which is very impressive, although photo prints are still not as refined as other models. Crisp texts, however, are always guaranteed with the Aficio SPC221N.

Disadvantages

While the Ricoh Aficio SPC221N printer is one of the most user-friendly machines in the market, it still occupies a great deal of desk space, and photo prints are not as excellent as one would expect from a laser printer. The Ricoh SPC221N is also quite noisy.
