A larger inkjet printer that delivers colour or monoprints, the HL-J6000DW Brother is a good choice for small businesses or homes that need professional-standard documents. With a wider tray, it can produce prints of up to A3 in size, and once switched on, it takes just 6 seconds to deliver the first copy. This printer takes high-yield cartridges, which allow it to maintain a run for longer without interruptions.

Design

The Brother HL-J6000DW printer model has a USB port, which can be used to download or upload data, and it also offers wireless connectivity. The paper tray can take 250 sheets at any one time, and the universal tray takes 100 sheets – this leaves users free to get on with other tasks during long print runs. The colour touchscreen measures 6.8cm across and can be accessed to manage a range of functions. It can be used to set a print run or pause the run and connect up to a range of online services, such as AirPrint from Apple and Google Cloud Print.

Advantages

In black and white, the Brother HL-J6000DW inkjet model can produce up to 22 pages per minute, while in colour, it reaches speeds of 20 pages each minute. It can be used to print on a range of media and paper sizes up to A3, and can also be used to create duplex copies. The wireless function allows users to connect to the unit with their mobile phone, tablet or laptop and then select one or a range of documents to be printed. The recommended monthly print cycle is between 250 and 2,000 pages.

Disadvantages

Some owners have reported having problems with the paper feed tray of this printer, as it has failed to respond or is not detectable. This tends to be caused by the paper tray working loose.
