The Canon Pixma MP530 claims to let you accomplish more photo and document printing in less time. Integrated with a fax machine, a copier, and a scanner, it is a smart multifunction printer for the small office, though the lack of memory card slots and absence of networking capabilities limit its full efficiency for the workplace.

Design

Canon designed the Canon Pixma MP530 as an all-in-one device with a 33.6Kbps fax, a CIS scanner, and a digital copier that can do up to 28 copies per minute (monochrome) and 19 copies per minute (colour). The device takes a little too much space, being 10.4 inches tall and 18.5 inches wide. The Canon Pixma MP530 works with the Canon FINE (Full-lithography inkjet Nozzle Engineering) printing technology and has high-yield 5 individual ink tanks. Users can enhance the scanner's resolution to 19200x19200 dpi for better quality output.

Advantages

The Canon Pixma MP530 is true to its promise of fast prints without sacrificing quality. The ink cartridges and speciality paper are inexpensive, so this device is economical to own in the long-run. Dual paper trays let you do high-capacity printing, while the built-in duplexer lets you save time and resources.

Disadvantages

The printer is quite heavy at 28.2 lbs, limiting mobility. The Canon Pixma MP530 package does not include the cable for the direct print port (you have to buy it separately). Another drawback is the lack of network capabilities and direct printing options from memory cards and digital cameras.
