Customer Questions & Answers

Can't find the answer you're looking for?
Ask us a question we're happy to help!

  • Are the compatible cartridges you sell for the Pixma MP800 identical to the genuine Canon ink cartridges in terms of colour? How long will they last without losing their colour? Many thanks, Mike.

    Compatible Canon MP800 ink cartridges

Canon use patented ink technology in their Canon Pixma MP800 ink cartridges so it's not possible for a compatible Pixma MP800 ink cartridge made by another manufacturer to be identical. However, they do provide a very similar level of colour quality so you shouldn't notice any significant difference. The capacity of our compatible Canon MP800 ink cartrigdes is exactly the same as the genuine inks so they should last the same amount of time. In terms of how long they will last before fading they should last for approximately the same time as you'd expect the Canon ink to although this can't be guaranteed. We offer you a full, 30 day money back guarantee on our compatible Canon Pixma MP800 ink cartridges so if you're not satisfied with the quality or performance you can claim your money back.

Canon Pixma MP800 Printer Review

Expert review of the Canon Pixma MP800 printer

Our Verdict:

When it comes to high-volume document and photo printing, small businesses can rely on the Canon Pixma MP800, which is specifically built for this purpose. It is a highly advanced and reliable all-in-one device integrated with a scanner and a copier, capable of producing laser-quality text and true-to-life photos. However, it is a rather bulky and heavy printer at the best of times. It also tends to be quite expensive to run.

This printer is 18.6 inches wide, 19.3 inches in diameter, and 9.5 inches tall, so it tends to take up a lot of space on your desk. It is also heavy at 26.4 lbs. The centrepiece of the Canon Pixma MP800 is the 3.5-inch colour LCD screen which lets you preview pictures and enhance them before printing. Vivid photo print-outs and crisper text prints are guaranteed because of the ContrastPLUS 5-colour ink system, which boasts a comprehensive colour palette.

Direct printing is one of the printer's strengths. It is compatible with PictBridge, and with an optional adapter, the Canon Pixma MP800 can print directly from other memory cards such as xD-picture card, miniSD card, and Memory Stick Duo Pro. The scanner is integrated with a high-resolution CCD technology, so vivid 2400 dpi, 48-bit colour depth scans are produced. The Canon Pixma MP800 is also capable of double-sided printing. An additional paper tray is available for those with high-volume printing needs. The printer is also speedy at up to 30 ppm in monochrome and 24 ppm in colour.

One of the major flaws of the Canon Pixma MP800 is its size and weight, making it difficult to take along with you if you have to travel. Some users also complain about the scanner's unsatisfactory speed and performance. There are also problems with the inks used by the Canon Pixma MP800; some complain that they dry up quickly, especially when not used frequently.
