The Canon Pixma TS6251 is a colour, multifunction printer with the ability to print, scan and copy. This is ideal for use in a home or a home office, allowing all the family to print from their favourite devices. Setup and operation are simple, and with two paper trays, downtime for swapping media is reduced. Operating noise of this printer is on the loud side, so consider where it should be placed to avoid disruption. The five ink system results in prints of superior quality in both colour and monochrome but is more expensive than a standard four ink system.

Design

The Canon Pixma TS6251 has a stylish white design and dimensions of 315 x 139 x 372 mm. A connection is achieved via a USB interface or using a variety of wireless options. Printing resolution is 4800x1200 dpi and print speeds are 15 ppm for monochrome printing with 10 ppm for colour documents. Paper is stored in the 100-sheet paper tray and the 20-sheet tray for photographic paper. A control panel on the front of the printer includes a 7.5 cm colour touchscreen.

Advantages

Setup of the Canon Pixma TS6251 is straight forward. There are a number of connectivity options for wireless printing, including the Canon PRINT app, connect with the cloud and Wi-Fi direct. With two paper trays on the printer, it is easy to switch between different kinds of paper. This printer utilises a five-ink system and the inclusion of pigment black results in high definition colour graphics and precise black text. Duplex printing comes as standard, while the compact size allows the printer to fit easily onto a shelf or desktop.

Disadvantages

With noisy operating levels, the Canon Pixma TS6251 may result in some disruption. Using a five-ink system does improve the quality of the printing, but also raises the running costs, and increases the amount of time spent changing ink cartridges.
