The Canon Pixma TS9551C is a colour inkjet multifunction printer that is designed for home offices and home crafters with small-to-medium-volume printing demands. The TS9551C has a white finish but is otherwise identical to the TS9550, which has a black finish. The printer uses a black, a pigment black, a cyan, a magenta and a yellow ink tank. Canon’s FINE printhead technology combines these five inks to create highly detailed photos. This unit includes printing, copying and scanning functions. The printer features a 20-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) to facilitate copying. It will print on a range of media, including plain paper, cardstock, labels and envelopes. The printer accepts a wide range of paper sizes, including A3/ledger. A duplex capability is built in to let you use less paper for print runs, however the speed is the main downside to this printer.
Design
The unit weighs 9.7kg and measures 468 x 366 x 193mm. The printer has a front and a rear paper input tray with a capacity of 100 sheets each. The Canon Pixma TS9551C features USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi network connections. The printer also features an intuitive 10.8cm touchscreen control panel that helps keep your productivity high. The printer features 45 built-in patterns for creating wrapping paper, scrapbooks and other crafts projects.
Advantages
The unit’s flatbed scanner and ADF makes copying and scanning documents a breeze. Print and copy resolutions are up to 4800 x 1200 dpi, and colour and monochrome scan resolution is 1200 x 2400 dpi. The printer supports a variety of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS. Support for Android, iOS and Windows 10 Mobile allows you to print directly from your mobile device.
Disadvantages
This printer is designed for home use and speciality applications, so offices with larger printing requirements will need to look elsewhere to find a printer to meet their needs. The print speed is 10 ppm for colour documents and 15 ppm for monochrome documents, so printing may be a bit slow for some.
