Design

The Epson SC-P5000 is a tabletop design weighs in at 52 kilograms and measures 863 millimetres wide by 766 millimetres deep by 406 millimetres high. The machine is designed for easy use and maintenance and incorporates a number of features, such as shields and guards that are designed to keep dust contamination of the interior at a minimum so as to reduce the risk of damage to internal parts or disruption to print runs. The printer is a 17-inch large-format model.

Used with the Violet ink set, the SC-P5000 can achieve colour authenticity of up to 99% accuracy to the Pantone Solid Coated Colours spectrum. This is useful in the creation of proofs from items such as packaging and marketing materials, where it is important that corporate colours are faithfully reproduced. With ten 360-nozzle outputs, the printer can create large-format, high-resolution prints in resolutions up to 2,880 x 1,440 dots per inch (dpi), while the 3.5-pl droplet size helps create crisper, clearer prints with minimised graininess. The media inputs are both roll and manual, with a maximum roll width or custom size of 43.2 centimetres. Used as directed, the Epson SureColor SC-P5000 also offers better colourfast performance for prints than is standard. The printer conforms to Energy Start energy efficiency requirements, making it a good choice for the environmentally conscious consumer.

Disadvantages

The wired only configuration of the Epson SureColor SC-P5000 can limit print flexibility within the workplace.
