Expert review of the HP Designjet T1100ps 24-in printer
The HP Designjet T1100ps 24-in printer was designed for large scale printing and intended for use by designers, engineers, and architects. The printer has since been discontinued by HP and replaced with another model, which may make it of particular interest to the budget-minded. It is suitable for a variety of workplaces as it can print, copy and scan using various media types, and can be used to produce marketing materials in-house. The HP Designjet T1100ps uses HP Thermal Inkjet technology and features embedded Adobe PostScript 3 and support for printing in PDF format.
Design
The HP Designjet T1100ps is equipped with 256MB of RAM and a hard drive of 40GB that is sufficient for most jobs. This is a smaller large-scale printer measuring in at 126.2 x 66.1 x 39.1cm and weighing 47kg. It is mounted on a stand so it will not take up any desk space. It utilises a six-ink system to provide high-quality colour and mono printing.
Advantages
The Designjet T1100ps 24-in is a much faster HP Designjet T1100ps than previous models. It has a print speed that will allow around 70 A1 sheets to be produced each hour. This printer can utilise a wide variety of media types including self-adhesives such as two-view cling, film, backlit and technical paper making it a truly versatile machine, reducing the need for outsourcing.
Disadvantages
The fact that the HP Designjet T1100ps has now been discontinued means that advice should be taken before purchasing this item, although the consumables are still available. This printer can only handle media up to 24in in width, and is not ideal for standard home use. Both its larger size and focus on large-scale printing make it a better fit for business use. This HP Designjet T1100ps does not support Wi-Fi and is only suitable for those with a location close to a wired network connection or nearby a dedicated computer.
