The straightforward design and user-friendly features make the HP Deskjet 1512 ideal for small and home office environments. It offers copying, scanning, and printing, all combined in an affordable compact unit, but high running costs, mediocre print quality, and sluggish performance make it less appealing.

Design

The 5.21kg frame measures 193mm tall, 463mm wide, and 354mm deep. A rear high-speed USB 2.0 port serves as the main connectivity feature. The input tray of the HP Deskjet 1512 can handle 50 sheets of plain paper, while the output bin can handle up to 30 sheets of paper. The front paper loading path is collapsible and can be retracted to save space when not in use. The colour flatbed scanner produces images with a resolution of up to 1200x1200ppi optical. The small operator panel has LED status indicators.

Advantages

It is an all-in-one printer that can save space. High capacity cartridges are available for the HP Deskjet 1512 to help reduce printing costs. Versatile media handling allows users to print photos, greeting cards, brochures, and text documents with ease. The HP Deskjet 1512 is easy to set up and use.

Disadvantages

The print resolution is low and outdated, at only 300x300dpi in draft mode and 600x300dpi in normal mode. At its best, the HP Deskjet 1512 can produce grainy and unimpressive images at 600x600dpi. Based on ISO standards, the HP Deskjet 1512 is slow. The quoted speeds are 7ppm in black and 4ppm in colour. The scanner does not produce the best results, especially when scanning colour documents and pictures. There is also no Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
