  • What cartridges are needed for the HP Deskjet 3000 printer? HP 301 or 301XL?

    HP Deskjet 3000 printer cartridges

You can use either the HP 301 or HP 301XL ink cartridges in the Deskjet 3000 printer. The only difference is that the HP 301XL cartridges are high capacity and contain more ink / last longer than the HP 301 cartridges. Simply choose whichever cartridge is best suited to your printing needs.

  • How do you set up wireless on the Deskjet 3000 printer? I've tried but it didn't work.

    Wireless connections on Deskjet 3000

Please refer to your Deskjet 3000 printer manual for printer setting and configuration. If you no longer have this please use this link to view your manual from HP's website: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02497107.pdf

WiFi setup is found on page 29, if you have followed these steps and are still struggling, I would recommend speaking to HP for technical support.

HP Deskjet 3000 Printer Review

Expert review of the HP Deskjet 3000 printer

Our Verdict:

The HP Deskjet 3000 is affordable, easy to use and comes with wireless technology so that you can connect up multiple devices. The HP Deskjet 3000, referred to by HP as the CH393B does the job if you are on a tight budget, however you may be slightly disappointed with the print quality, especially if you're looking to print photographs or graphic rich documents.

Design

The HP Deskjet 3000 looks fantastic with its black gloss and matte finish. It's fairly compact, but this comes at a cost! The paper tray can only hold 60 sheets – not ideal if you print regularly. On the left of the paper tray, which features a fold-up design, is the control panel. This includes six function buttons; there are also wireless, quick forms, cancel and a power button. And if you don't want to connect through WiFi, there's always the option to connect via USB at the rear.

Advantages

The HP Deskjet 3000 is very straightforward to set up, with an easy-to-use wireless system. Furthermore the previously mentioned "quick forms" button brings up standard office forms, graph paper and other 'standard' business documents - a great time saver!

Disadvantages

As mentioned the print quality of the HP Deskjet 3000 is not the best, especially for an HP machine, although for such a modest price, its output is more than reasonable.
