Design

This printer is integrated with the drop-on-demand thermal inkjet technology and a sheet-fed scanner, which also acts as the copier and fax. The HP Officejet 4252 measures 18x41.6x20.4 cm (H x W x D) and weighs 5.5 Kg, making it a lightweight, small footprint device that does not take up too much space. Unlike other models from the same series, the HP Officejet 4252 has an actual telephone, which makes it look like a fax machine with a discreet printer, scanner, and copier.

Advantages

The HP Officejet 4252 prints fast in draft mode – as many as 12 ppm in colour and 17 ppm in monochrome, and at a maximum printing resolution of 4800x1200 dpi. The life cycle of 1,500 pages per month is more than enough for low-volume printing needs. The 33.6 Kbps modem lets the HP Officejet 4252 transmit fax messages swiftly.

Disadvantages

Some users complain that the HP Officejet 4252's control panel is overwhelming and confusing for a first-time user. Post-warranty support is not very good. Users with computers running on Windows 7 may find the printer outdated for their operating system and are better off looking for a more modern multifunction printer. Like other printers from the 4250 series, the Officejet 4252 has very limited scanning capabilities. This printer is not exactly made for photo printing, so the colour output may not be up to scratch for a graphic artist or photographer.
