A good choice for homes and small offices in need of a reliable multifunction, the HP PSC 1355 is a scanner, copier, and printer in one, offering good quality prints, and many other additional features. The HP PSC 1355 is best suited for homes and small working environments, although its lack of networking and wireless facilities can be a turn-off for small office users. It also lacks faxing capabilities, which makes it inferior to numerous MFP models packed with all 4 functionalities as well as networking and wireless connectivity.
Design
The HP PSC 1355 boasts a compact design, measuring only about 7x16x10 inches. It looks a lot like other box-type devices from the manufacturer and features an easy to use control panel right beside the scanner/copier. The paper tray is adequate, while the printer can be fed various media types, including envelopes, transparencies, labels, and many more. The HP PSC 1355 still uses one black ink tank and one tri-colour cartridge; an optional photo tank can be used for higher resolution pictures.
Advantages
The HP PSC 1355 can be used with both Mac and Windows computers and has high-speed USB as standard interface. Its ink tanks max out at 400-520 pages. The scanner can recognise up to 36-bit internal colour depth, although operation can be slow especially when scanning in 'best' mode.
Disadvantages
The HP PSC 1355 can only handle up to 1000 impressions per month, making it suitable only for home use. It also lacks networking capabilities and does not support fax or wireless connectivity.
