HP PSC 2105 Printer Review
Expert review of the HP PSC 2105 printer
Produced for the European market, the HP PSC 2105 is an All-In-One printer aimed at users looking for a speedy inkjet printer with a few extra functions for use at home or in a small office. It features a flatbed scanner and a colour copier, but its technology and build are quite outdated when compared with current multifunction printers.
Design
The printer has a small footprint, measuring 37 cm in depth, 46.3 cm wide, and 22 cm tall, but it is quite heavy at 7.82 kg. The TWAIN-compliant scanner boasts a resolution of 600x1200 dpi, which can be digitally optimised to 9600 dpi. The copier uses digital image processing technology. In fast mode, it produces up to 10 ppm in black and up to 8 ppm in colour.
Advantages
Equipped with the HP PhotoREt III and compatible with the IV Colour Layering technology, the HP PSC 2105 can produce good quality and vivid colour images. When printing in fast mode with a resolution of 300x300 dpi, the printer can produce up to 14 ppm in monochrome and 10 ppm in colour. The duty cycle of the HP PSC 2105 is just right for small offices and personal users.
Disadvantages
Compatibility problems with Windows 7 still plague the HP PSC 2105 all-in-one printer. Users report paper jams, too. Speed is another problem, as the HP PSC 2105 is sub par when compared to printers from other brands.
