The HP Photosmart 7960 is generous when it comes to speed and direct printing capabilities, making it an intelligent device for home photo printing needs. However, it could have been much better if it had networking and wireless capabilities, too.

Design

At 16.8 lbs, the HP Photosmart 7960 may not be the lightest photo printer around, but it is portable enough. It measures 7.6 inches tall, 15.1 inches deep, and 20.9 inches wide, utilising inkjet colour technology. The duty cycle is a generous 5,000 pages per month. There are 2 USB ports (one at the back and one on the front) and 5 slots for memory cards. Its 32MB RAM makes it faster than most HP photo printers.

Advantages

The HP Photosmart 7960 boasts excellent print quality. The sleek design is praised for its minimal buttons and built-in LCD screen, as well as for the direct-print capabilities from memory cards. Unlike other HP printers, the HP Photosmart 7960 is fast at printing colour documents at 5 ppm in normal mode and 16 ppm in draft. This printer can also detect media and adjust itself accordingly.

Disadvantages

This model is still prone to some of the common problems of other HP printers, including system hang-ups. The HP Photosmart 7960 is also a pricey photo printer. It can certainly use a bigger LCD screen. The HP Photosmart 7960 still doesn't have networking capabilities and Wi-Fi to justify its price.
