Our Verdict:

The Brother PT-2450DX is an advanced label maker ideal for office use. This desktop unit has excellent labelling features and is very reliable. It offers several framing and fill patterns as well as templates and has more built-in fonts than other labelling devices. The usual ‘preview before printing’ feature isn’t available on the Brother PT-2450DX labelling machine.

Design

Measuring 194 x 242 x 65.5mm and weighing 900g, the small desktop Brother PT-2450DX printer takes up little space. It has a housing colour of metallic silver and dark blue, making it neutral yet easily identifiable in the office. It can load tape sizes 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24mm. The Brother PT-2450DX printer has 51 keys, including numbers and a QWERTY keyboard plus function keys, and a 2 lines x 10 characters LCD display. For convenience, this device has an integrated auto-full cutter.

Advantages

Excellent features of the Brother PT-2450DX professional labelling system include copy printing of up to 99 labels, numbering, mirror printing, and options of underline and strikeout. It offers 15 kinds of frames and fills plus 48 templates. The Brother P-Touch PT-2450DX label printer also offers 8 built-in fonts, 9 font types and 8 character sizes. Its large memory allows it to save up to 2,500 characters. Up to 7 lines can be printed on a single label. The P-Touch PT2450DX label maker is ideal for shops as it can offer 9 kinds of barcode printing.

Disadvantages

Print speed of the Brother 2450DX label printer is a bit slow and it isn’t able to offer a preview function. An AC adapter for this labelling machine is an additional cost. Vertical alignment and split printing functions can’t be done on the P-Touch 2450DX label maker machine.
