Design

This freestanding multifunction printer is integrated with the colour digital multifunction imaging system of Canon with a large tilting 8.4-inch full-colour screen as its centrepiece. The simple build features a compact footprint and a universal design to make it appealing while being comfortable and easy to operate. The compact Canon IRC-5045 multifunction printer has two processors for ultimate speed, while the standard 80GB hard disk drive offers ample storage.

Advantages

The Canon IR-C5045 colour laser printer is reasonably fast with print speeds clocking in at a maximum of 45ppm. Users can save time and paper with the 150-sheet single pass duplex scanner option. There are useful internal finishing options, high-end security features, two menus for ease of operation, and reduced running costs with high-yield toners. The Canon IRC-5045 colour copier also includes a super G3 33.6Kbps fax board, networking options, and the ability to print directly from USB thumb drives and memory cards. Producing high quality output at low costs is easy with the Canon IRC5045 cartridges which last for 44,000 pages in black or 38,000 pages per colour toner.

Disadvantages

The scanning resolution of the Canon IRC5045 photocopier is only up to 600x600dpi. The high initial cost is another issue, and it can get more expensive with memory and hard disk drive upgrades. Many optional accessories are available for the Canon ImageRUNNER C5045 printer, but that would mean spending more than what users should for it. Wireless LAN is optional.
