This colour laser all-in-one provides the usual features that one can expect from a device that can scan, print and copy. The addition of fax capability makes the HP Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw printer a more advanced entry-level multifunction printer for the budget-conscious user. However, the Colour LaserJet M177fw is slow, quite expensive to run and has limited features.

Design

It looks almost plain and rugged, but the three-inch CGD touchscreen display adds a tech-savvy and sophisticated glow to the HP LaserJet Pro M177fw colour multifunction printer. It's powered by a 600MHz processor and uses four individual HP M177fw toner cartridges for black, cyan, magenta and yellow colours. It requires a a single imaging drum and runs on 128MB of memory. Hi-speed USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet make up the standard connectivity options for this multifunction machine. Paper is handled by a 150-sheet input tray and a 50-sheet face-down output bin.

Advantages

The HP Colour LaserJet Pro M177fw multifunction printer produces excellent colour and monochrome output on a wide range of media types. Wi-Fi connectivity simplifies printing from wireless devices. The colour touchscreen is easy to operate, and the built-in ADF simplifies paper loading while enabling users to leave the Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw unattended. AirPrint and Eprint are supported.

Disadvantages

The HP M177fw printer cannot scan on its own, so users need to initiate the action from their PC. The HP Colour LaserJet Pro M177fw printer is slow and the paper capacity is limited.
