Our Verdict:

The HP LaserJet 4050n is a workgroup printer that is suitable for a small business that solely requires black and white printing. This laser monochrome printer is fast-paced and will produce up to 17 pages per minute with ease. Documents are printed in an amazing 1,200 x 1,200 dpi which will leave you with sharp texts and clear graphics. To handle print processing, this printer makes use of a 133 MHz processor that is easily able to manage incoming print jobs.

Design

The HP LaserJet 4050n is a compact printer that will easily fit into any available area. It has dimensions of 39.11 cm in width, 49.27 cm in depth, and 34.29 cm in height. At a weight of 17.78 kg, it may be moderately heavy for just one person to lift. A connection with your computer is accomplished using either a Ethernet connection or an infrared port that will allow users to hook up the printer without wires. HP 4050n toner is also designed to produce up to 10,000 pages before needing a replacement and is easy to install. HIgh capacity HP 4050N cartridges are available with page yields of up to 15,000 pages.

Advantages

Duplex printing is another great feature that is made available by the HP LaserJet 4050n. This benefit will allow users to print double-sided on documents, thus reducing paper consumption and costs. The LaserJet 4050n also has the hardware necessary to upgrade memory from 16 MB to 200 MB using two memory expansion slots that are provided. Transparencies, envelopes, and labels can also be printed on in addition to plain paper. Computers in a network can also use this printer due to its plug-in network card that allows the HP 4050n to work as a print server. HP 4050n toners are also very affordable, so your running costs shouldn't be too high even in busy offices.

Disadvantages

This printer does not include a scanner or copier and may not be the right option for anyone who would prefer a multifunction device.
