Expert review of the OKI C822dn printer
The Oki C822dn delivers colour A4 and A3 printing at reasonable costs; however, the print quality of A3 colour prints left a lot to be desired, and Oki has now replaced this device with the C823. You may still purchase this device from a variety of outlets, and you may just pick it up at an exceptional price. Consumables are still available, and if it is cheap A3 printing that you are after, this device might just be for you.
Design
This printer is rather sleek and stylish and is designed with a focus on ease of use. The edges are nicely curved, users can change cartridges at the top of the device easily, and it won’t take up that much space considering that it prints A3. The interface screen and keypad are located at the top of the device, the paper is loadable at the front, and at 449mm x 552mm x 360mm this device is certainly manageable.
Advantages
The Oki C822dn is perfect for anyone who requires mono or colour A3 prints on a regular basis and is not too fussy about the quality. Documents may be satisfactory for in-house distribution; however, the resolution is unlikely to be suitable for marketing or promotional purposes.
The print speeds are adequate at 23ppm for A4 and 13ppm for A3. The paper tray capacity is also reasonable, and Oki recommends a monthly output of 5,000 sheets. Both A4 and A3 per page rates are competitive, and the device itself is excellent value.
Disadvantages
Seeing as Oki no longer manufactures the C822dn, it is hard to recommend it to anyone. Though the Oki C822dn will cost a lot more, there is no use in purchasing a poor-quality printer that produces substandard documents and photos.
