Known for their heavy duty copiers, Ricoh has also stormed the market with their superior-quality printers, like the Ricoh Aficio SPC240dn. This laser printer is the ideal solution for those looking for image quality, fast print speeds, and competitive cost of ownership. It warms up faster than more popular inkjets, although it is not as compact, especially when compared to all-in-ones. The Ricoh Aficio SPC240dn also lacks wireless connectivity, but it does offer Ethernet networking.

Design

The Ricoh Aficio SPC240dn printer measures about 400x450x320 mm. It utilizes 4-drums tandem method and electro photographic printing technology, and allows automatic double-sided printing with its dedicated duplex tray. Connectivity is via Ethernet, USB 2.0 and PictBridge, for acquiring images direct from digital cameras. The Ricoh Aficio SPC240dn has a control panel with a small display, several command buttons, and three LED status indicators for power, alerts, and data status.

Advantages

The Ricoh Aficio SPC240dn is a reliable single-function printer with impressive print speeds of up to 16ppm for both full colour and black and white prints, thanks to the machine's 64MB RAM. It is a heavy duty device boasting a duty cycle of 30,000 pages per month, and is built to take on high-volume print jobs. Print resolutions range from 600x600dpi to 2400x600dpi, allowing high-quality photo, text, and graphic outputs. Consumables are also very cost effective, driving down maintenance costs.
