The Sharp MX-5050N offers a vast range of upgrades and options that make it somewhat future-proof and define its cost-effectiveness, flexibility and energy efficiency. It’s the ideal combination of printer, scanner and copier if you’re in a busy workgroup and have limited office space. One of the biggest draws of the unit is its internet connectivity. Essential features of the modern office printer include single sign-in to cloud storage services and the ability to store all documents on a central server before printing to any MFP in the network, and here the MX5050N does not disappoint.

Design

With dimensions of 608x650x834mm and a weight of 82kg, the Sharp MX-5050N is smaller than some of its predecessors, but it is no less energy saving and operationally efficient. The copy and print speed of 50ppm is superior to that of most comparable products, and a print resolution of 600x600dpi is excellent enough for most user needs. The unit will handle up to 6,300 sheets of variable paper sizes in a single batch, and all of its operations are conveniently controlled from a tiltable LCD touchscreen on the front panel.

Advantages

The Sharp MX5050N produces prints and copies of an excellent quality and is compact enough to fit snugly into confined spaces. The icons on the touchscreen are customisable, and the unit has a short warm-up time for improved energy efficiency and productivity. It can be operated remotely from any suitable handheld device connected online, which is invaluable for personnel who are away from the office and need to process documents of any kind.

Disadvantages

The somewhat reflective nature of the LCD screen might have some influence over placement of the Sharp MX-5050N in the office, and the traditional design may seem bulky to some users.
