  • I need to buy a new image drum for my printer, however the printer I'm using still has full sets of toner in, if i were to buy a new one can I take the toner out from the old drum into the new drum? or would they need to be brand new un opened?

  • Will I also have to purchase replacement toners when replacing the Drum? I thought the toners empties into the Drum unit, my toners vary from 90% to 40% so will be a lot of wastage if they need replacing.

    When a drum unit is replaced the first cartridges you install will transfer straight into the drum unit. This might cause the toner to read as empty.

    Oki 44968301 drum replacement

    The drum and the fuser in a laser printer are separate parts that perform a different job. The image drum(s) are responsible for creating an electrostatic image of the page so that it can be printed accurately using toner from the cartridges. The fuser works at the end of the printing process to bond toner to the page by applying heat and pressure. The item listed here is an original Oki 44968301 drum unit that contains all four of the drum components for the Oki C321dn colour laser printer.   • If I buy the genuine Oki 44968301 drum unit this covers all four of the different cartridges needed for the machine. However, if I do, that what happens if the black runs out first? Do I then have to replace the entire drum or can I slot in a new single cartridge?

    No, this original Oki 44968301 drum is designed so that you can slot the four toner cartridges into four separate colour slots as and when they run out so you can change the toners individually and this will not affect the life of the drum.

  • Why do these need replacing in Oki printers?

    Oki 44968301 drum unit

    Every laser printer uses an image drum of some description as part of the laser beam printing process. The drum is charged so that toner is attracted to its surface in order to form an image that can be printed out quicly and accurately. In printers that use an Oki 44968301 drum unit the toner and drum are replaced as separate parts so it's essential that you replace the drum when it expires after approximately 30,000 black / 20,000 colour prints. Otherwise, you'll start to experince print defects such as printer errors, faded images or inconsistent print quality etc.

  • I've been recommended to your site by a friend. I want to buy a laser printer and he's suggested an Oki C301dn. On checking your website there seems lots of options for toners etc. My question is, if I buy the C301dn, is the toner pack advertised all I need to start printing? I print 90% photographs, and at present use an inkjet printer. Fred Trow.

    This item is the Oki C301dn drum unit rather than a pack of toner cartridges. When you buy the printer it should come with starter cartridges and you should be able to start printing as soon as the printer is set up. However, the starter cartridges won't last very long unlike the replacement cartridges that you get from us. With laser printers you'll also have to buy maintenance items such as this 44968301 drum unit to keep the printer running smoothly.     My printer was getting old and began to have some problems. But after changing the Drum Unit, it began to work well. I am very satisfied with the Drum Unit. Also, I am highly impressed by the quality of customer service that cartridgesave.co.uk provides. I think both the quality of items and the quality of service are perfect. Thank you.

    Excellent service for OKI drum unit. The price was excellent value and delivered swiftly, next day. With added simple installation it meant the printer was only offline for a minimum amount of time. Would certainly order from Cartridge Save again.

    Initially, the one we ordered made a weird squeaking noise. We contacted Cartridge Save who were brilliant. No quibbling. A new one was received next day and the original one was sent back. The replacement one worked great. Their customer service is probably one of the best I have encountered. I have also had a few problems with cartridges in the past and again they couldn't have done more to help.

    I'm delighted with the OKI Drum kit. It worked straight away and installation was simple. The price was really good, great value. Delivery was advertised as next-day and arrived on time. This was my first time using Cartridge Save. I will not shop anywhere else from now on.

    Using the OKI printer as much as we do, left us in trouble when the drum unit ceased to work late one afternoon. However we ordered it from cartridge save and as they promised it arrived the next morning and our working day continued as usual. Drum unit was as described and delivery fantastic - well done cartridge save - we'll be back
