Budget-conscious users will love the economical colour printing and document processing solutions of the Brother MFC-J870DW, an all-in-one inkjet device with a fairly compact frame. Time-saving features are also built into the Brother MFC-J870DW wireless colour inkjet all-in-one with fax, while seamless operation is guaranteed by the intuitive touchscreen display. However, the MFC-J870DW printer doesn't provide much expandability for the growing workgroup.

Design

The Brother MFC-J870DW colour all-in-one is a 9.1kg multifunction device with a 14.4Kbps fax modem, flatbed scanner, four-colour inkjet printer, and a digital copier. Standard interfaces include high-speed USB 2.0, wireless, Ethernet, PictBridge, and WiFi direct, making it versatile. The backlit touch-screen LCD display simplifies on-board operation with minimal keys on the side. Up to 50 sheets can be handled by the output bin, while the input tray can handle 100 sheets. The machine is 7.1 inches tall, 14.7 inches long, and 16.1 inches wide, but the well-designed sleek frame allows the Brother MFCJ870DW printer to blend easily into any stylish or traditional office.

Advantages

It is an affordable all-in-one that promotes lower operational and printing costs because of two-sided printing, high-yield Brother MFC-J870DW ink cartridges, and convenient mobile printing. The print speeds are up to 10ppm in colour and 12ppm in monochrome for increased productivity. The Brother MFC-J870DW is easy to operate because of the 2.7-inch touch panel and simplified on-board keys. Near Field Communication, Web Connect, and Brother Cloud apps are supported to simplify some tasks. The Brother MFC-J870DW multifunction printer can print directly from media cards or digital cameras, or on DVDs and CDs.

Disadvantages

Though aimed at small offices, the MFC-J870DW inkjet all-in-one with fax is bulky and takes up a lot of space on standard desktops and compact computer tables. Expansion options available for the Brother MFC-J870DW colour inkjet are limited. The fax modem speed is outdated when compared to faster standalone fax machines.
