The compact size and quiet operation makes this desktop printer appropriate for small and home offices. The Kyocera ECOSYS P2135dn is versatile with a network-ready build that makes sharing easier. Standard features like duplexing and fast print speeds help improve productivity and save resources, too, but the lack of further upgrades make it less efficient for a growing workgroup.
Design
A 1200dpi engine is engineered into this A4 desktop printer that uses the signature ECOSYS laser technology. It has an industrial frame with a straightforward build that measures 375mm wide, 393mm deep, and 267mm tall, and weighs 12kg. The Kyocera ECOSYS P2135dn is powered by a 500MHz processor and runs on 256MB of standard memory. The interfaces are high-speed USB 2.0, an SD card slot, USB host port, and Ethernet. The standard paper capacity is 250 sheets for the universal tray and 50 sheets for the multi-purpose tray. The operator panel has an angled monochrome display screen for easy viewing.
Advantages
The Kyocera ECOSYS P2135dn works with a wide range of Windows, Mac, Linux, and UNIX operating systems. It takes only 16.5 seconds to warm up, and it produces output in speeds of up to 35ppm on A4-sized sheets. Double-sided printing is a standard function. The RAM is upgradeable to 1280MB and the paper capacity can be increased to 800 sheets with an optional paper tray. The Kyocera ECOSYS P2135dn can reduce overall printing and running costs with long life components and a reliable, robust print engine. Direct printing from USB flash drives and SD cards is also supported.
Disadvantages
This model only prints in black and white making it unusable for many offices. There are no further options to upgrade the memory and paper capacity of the Kyocera ECOSYS P2135dn and Wi-Fi is not supported.
