Powerful and fast, the Lexmark MS517dn is an upgrade from most entry-level black and white printers. Promising up to 45 pages per minute and a time to first print speed of as fast as 6.5 seconds, the machine will complete most large volume projects with ease. It is also easy to operate with a simple mobile printing app that enables mobile device printing, and also includes USB and Ethernet ports in addition to an optional Wi-Fi adapter. The processing power and reliability of the Lexmark MS517dn makes it perfect for most medium-sized businesses and has the capacity to print up to 2,000 sheets uninterrupted and a monthly print cycle of up to 14,000 pages.

Design

Measuring a slight 10.3 x 15.7 x 15.0 inches and weighing only 15kg, the Lexmark MS517dn has the perfect dimensions for most office desks or tables. It boasts a Dual Core 800 MHz processor and a standard 256MB of memory, with the option to increase it to 1280MB. The machine paper handling capacity is incredibly versatile, with the standard 350-sheet maximum able to be boosted to 2,000 sheets with three additional trays. It also includes a 150-sheet output bin. Internet and computer connectivity is ensured thanks to a USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet ports, with an optional MarkNet N8352 802.11b/g/n Wireless port.

Advantages

The Lexmark MS517dn black and white printer is designed with medium businesses in mind and boasts reliable results and fast printing speeds. The high volume paper capacity and monthly print cycle makes it a great choice for larger projects. The simple mobile printing app is also an amazing feature that is compatible with most mainstream mobile device operating systems.

Disadvantages

Despite its great array of functions, the Lexmark MS-517dn is not for everybody. Small businesses and home offices may not require the fast speeds and high volume capacity of the machine, while larger businesses may not find the system powerful enough.
