The MS822de Lexmark is a monochrome laser printer that offers a variety of advantages for the modern office. It is aimed at a larger office, and with that in mind it is compatible with a wide variety of computer operating systems. It does not have the copy and scan functions that many offices require, and this could be a disadvantage in a busy environment, but the quality of the prints will help to make up for this.

Design

Duplexing is a feature that is built-in to the mono Lexmark MS822de, helping to save paper. The Lexmark MS822de model has a touch screen that measures 10.9 cm and is in full colour. Paper feed is via a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder and there is also a 550-sheet tray. The dimensions of the unit are 44x42.8x51 cm. It weighs 25.6kg which may be too much for one person to lift. It is a relatively compact printer and will not take up a lot of space in the office.

Advantages

The Lexmark printer model has a speed of 52 ppm which is an excellent print speed for a relatively small printer and there are a number of different connectivity options including USB ports and network. You only have to wait 4.5 seconds for the first page to print, so there is no waiting around. A high yield toner cartridge in this printer will produce around 15,000 pages of good quality printing before it needs to be replaced.

Disadvantages

The size of the MS822de mono printer is not large, but it is fairly heavy and could be unwieldy if it needs to be moved at all. The lack of colour printing is a clear disadvantage for a larger office where the printing requirements may be more complex. It also only handles paper up to size A4 but can print on various sizes below that, as well as envelopes and labels.
