Our Verdict:

The OKI C612nw is a laser colour printer designed for medium or high-volume printing within a small office or workgroup. The printer is reasonably fast and has a very solid set of features for a device of its class and price range, with output quality that is certainly well-suited to everyday use in the average business.

Design

The dimensions of the OKI C612nw printer measure at 435 x 547 x 340mm (width x depth x height), and the weight of the device is a total of 27kg. The design of the printer features a dark brown top and an off-white base, with a black and white display that shows off the menus and colour toner levels. It comes with a 300-sheet input tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray as well as USB, network and wireless connectivity. It is compatible with both the Windows and Mac operating systems, and has a memory of as much as 256 MB. There is also the option of adding another two 530-sheet paper trays, which would boost the overall capacity of the printer to as much as 1,460 sheets.

Advantages

The duty cycle of the OKI C612nw printer can reach up to a maximum of 75,000 pages per month. Print speed is as much as 36 pages per minute when printing in black and white, and an almost equally impressive 34 pages per minute when printing in colour. When printing in colour, the graphics were well saturated and suitably rich, and would certainly be acceptable for PowerPoint handouts. The print resolution is no less impressive at 1,200 x 600 DPI. An automatic duplexer is included to allow for double-sided printing, although this is not present in the base OKI C612 printer model.

Disadvantages

The running costs for the OK1 C612nw laser colour printer are somewhat on the high side.
