The MFC-J6530DW from Brother is a dedicated A3 all-in-one that offers the user a range of connectivity options including mobile and wireless. This printer is ideal for the office, for use at home, or even on the go. Users can print, copy, scan, and fax from a single machine using inkjet technology. Users can scan directly to a variety of apps such as Dropbox or Facebook, and cloud compatibility offers flexible working options for those who need to work from home occasionally.

Design

The printer features a 6.8cm colour touchscreen that offers direct access to functions and features of the printer offering easy control and setup. The printer measures 57.5 x 47.7 x 30.5cm and has a weight of 19.6kg. The low energy usage of the printer gives it a better environmentally-friendly rating. There is a USB flash drive option for direct printing. The printer has been designed for high-volume printing, which should lend itself to a longer life in most settings.

Advantages

Individual colour pigment-based inks can help to keep the MFC-J6530DW printing costs low as only one less expensive cartridge needs to be replaces as opposed to all colours at once. The Brother J6530DW tray has a 250-sheet capacity and there is a rear manual feed slot so that a variety of media types can be used for printing. A range of cloud apps can be accessed to save and convert documents and 22 pages per minute can be printed in mono with 20 per minute in colour. Two-sided printing and faxing are options.

Disadvantages

Copier speeds are just 12 pages per minute in mono and nine per minute in colour, which is much slower than printing. The Brother MFC-J6530DW offers 128MB of memory, which is adequate for most jobs but not huge projects. Double-sided scanning is not possible, even though double-sided copying is.
