Brother PT-55 Label Tape

Design

This label printer features an LCD display that shows one line and six characters at a time. The PT-55 Brother label maker has 182 characters, and you can vary the character size. The printer runs on standard-size batteries. There is no adapter option, so you can use the label printer anywhere. The dimensions of the printer are 94mm x 53mm x 159mm, and it weighs just 170g. There is a manual cutter on the printer that will cut labels of up to 30cm.

Advantages

The Brother PT-55 has a print resolution of 203 dpi, which is excellent when compared to similar models. Users can print up to two lines at a time on this printer. Users can opt for bold, outline, shadow and italic for styling, although the printer only features the Helsinki font.

Disadvantages

While this is one of the more familiar Brother label printers, it has a relatively slow speed at 7.5mm per second, and it only has a maximum print height of 6mm, which will limit the size and type of label that it can produce. There are many printing features that are not available on this label printer, including numbering and mirror printing, although underlining and vertical printing are possible. There is also only one font style. The manual cutter is not replaceable if it should malfunction.
