Our Verdict:

The powerful and innovative Brother PT-H500 label printer delivers creative and durable labels, making it ideal for office use. What’s more, the versatile and professional Brother PT-H500 handheld label printer can work on its own or connect to a computer for more labelling options. It offers dozens of options for customisable labels and has decent print resolution and speed. The Brother PT-H500 professional label printer can be used for labels for archived documents, shelves, USB sticks and file folders.

Design

The sleek and black Brother PT-H500 label maker has a backlit LCD that can display 16 characters by 3 lines. It can handle tapes with a maximum width of 24mm. For connectivity, the Brother P-Touch PT-H500 handheld label printer has a USB interface. This device also has a slot for the AC adapter and a compartment for batteries. It measures 122mm x 245mm x 91 mm and weighs 0.83kg. A full, automatic cutter is also integrated into the Brother PT-H500.

Advantages

The impressive Brother P-Touch H500 labelling machine can deliver up to 280 characters on a label and has 50 memory locations. Thanks to its standard USB connectivity, printing from a PC or Mac is possible. As a standalone device, the P-Touch PTH500 label maker has over 600 symbols, 126 frames and 14 fonts. Vertical printing and cable marking function as well as multi-copy of 99 labels can be done on the Brother PT-H500. Other excellent features of the Brother H500 handheld label machine include barcode scanner capability, screen capture, sequential numbering and label templates.

Disadvantages

The Brother PT-H500 printer is marked as a handheld device but will often need two hands for operation as it’s a bit heavy.
