This is a fast and reliable colour LED printer for the small yet busy business that is looking to improve its productivity with user-friendly and money-saving solutions. The Brother HL-3170CDW packs time-saving features with professional print quality for superior performance, but it lacks expandability options that a growing workgroup might need.

Design

The Brother HL-3170CDW measures 16.1 inches wide, 9.4 inches tall, and 18.3 inches deep and weighs 17.69Kg. There is a small control panel with a small backlit LCD display. Connectivity is through Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and Ethernet, and paper is handled by a 250-sheet input tray and single-sheet manual bypass feeder. The HL-3170CDW runs on 128MB of memory while being powered by a 333MHz processor.

Advantages

Digital colour LED technology makes the Brother HL-3170CDW faster, environment-friendly, and affordable to operate. It even has deep sleep mode to save energy when not in use. It has two-sided printing, Wi-Fi, and support for mobile print. The prints speeds of the Brother HL-3170CDW are up to 23ppm in monochrome and colour, making it one of the fastest single-function devices around.

Disadvantages

The memory and paper capacity of the Brother HL-3170CDW cannot be expanded. Photo and text quality are sub-par. The Brother HL-3170CDW is heavy and there is no USB direct print option.
