HP Laserjet 4000N toner cartridges 

Designed for a busy office, the HP LaserJet 4000N is a monochrome workgroup laser printer. With its large monthly duty cycle, this printer is a workhorse capable of supporting network printing and multiple jobs. Overall, the LaserJet 4000N is not packed with fancy features, but for its reasonable price, it certainly lives up to its promise of being an efficient and durable office machine.

Design

The LaserJet 4000N laser prints black and white only, with only one cartridge to change. Users can expect up to 10,000 pages from each high-capacity HP 4000N toner head. In addition to this efficient toner use, this machine has a generous monthly duty cycle of up to 65,000 pages, making it well-suited for network printing in an office environment. This printer boasts a total media capacity of 600 sheets, respectable for its size of only 38 x 48 x 33 cm. With three input trays, the LaserJet 4000N can handle multiple types of media at once.

Advantages

A print speed of 17 pages per minute is respectable for a printer in this class. Though similar workgroup laser printers offer speeds up to 20 pages per minute, the lower cost of the 4000N more than makes up for the slightly slower speed. This printer comes standard with 8MB of RAM, however this can be extended to 100MB for heavy duty multitasking or handling of large jobs. Though it is monochrome, the 4000N can print to labels, transparencies, envelopes, and standard media sizes. An optional duplexing feature is available. Finally, Ethernet connectivity with a 100 mHz processor makes the HP LaserJet 4000N functional and efficient for use across multiple computers in a busy office. HP LaserJet 4000N toner is long-lasting compared to other laser printers in its price range.

Disadvantages

Because it is designed for office use, the LaserJet 4000N offers no fancy bells or whistles. It is a workhorse for black and white printing, but is essentially a one-trick pony. Because it is at the less-expensive end of similar workgroup printers, it does not include document finishing functions like binding, collating, or stapling. This printer is not compatible with Linux systems and offers no direct print functions or portable memory drive connectivity.
