How do I make my Epson printer print without black ink?

Simply switch the printer monochrome mode. On Windows: 1. Find and open the Epson Printer Utility. 2. Check the box next to the setting "Permit temporary black printing". 3. View Print Settings in the Media Settings section. Choose plain papers and choose grayscale.

Why is Epson ink so expensive?

Epson claims its ink is expensive due to high research and development costs. Epson invests many millions in developing reliable, high quality printer cartridges. Many also believe that a proportion of the cost of your ink also subsidises the cost of developing new printers which are often sold very cheaply.

What is Epson ink made out of?

Epson's Claria ink is made out of a combination of dye and pigment based inks. It contains resin, lubricants and waxes. Varnish is a clear liquid that is used as base for most inks, then additives and resins are added at high temperatures.
